From 4 to 16

When I entered this school, I was just 4, entered holding my mom’s finger. Saturday was the last day of school at 16. In the same school for last 12 years , going from 8 to 4 daily studying, eating & playing together, ofcourse except holidays. Tomorrow I will be in different high school, leaving this for the first time in my life, forever.

The school may not make me the greatest man in this world but has definitely taught me to dare to dream.

The school may not make me the greatest sportsman but has taught me to keep up the high spirits in my failures.

I remember this transition of 12 years, so many new friends, teachers and even Principals came & gone, I bow my head to all of them for laying strong foundation of values in my life.

Those classes, walls, corridors, canteens, auditorium, football ground, tennis court & swimming pool, I bid them all- the last goodbye!

My days of first school ended after 12 years with a Puja – Prayer meet where we all were in traditional white dress.

The last Letter

My Grandfather, Dadu, as I used to call him. Today it is his first Death Anniversary.

I remember his always cheerful face and stories about his past ups and downs of his Life; born with a golden spoon to one room flat after his father lost money in business and then again his rise in life. He had lot of courage to face the world and lot of good principles, faith and prayers to back him.

I remember him playing with me cards and cricket and I showed him some monkey tricks.

I remember him bringing chocolates, wafers and roadside sandwiches for which mom and dad used to get mad.

I remember his encouragement for my Tennis and other activities. He came to my school to see my computer project which was selected and there he gave me this letter and 1000 bucks. That was his last letter to me.

Today he is no more with me but I miss him a lot and I pray for his peace and happiness.

Hello world!

“The finest steel has passed through the hottest fire.”

To achieve success in life one has to face hardships or challenges. If we desire luxuries we must work for them. Any rich, successful, influential guy we see today must have slogged to reach to this position.

“God gives every bird its food, but he does not throw it into his nest.” – J.G. Holland.

Hardwork is the topmost requirement if we want our dreams to come true. The human brain has great capabilities and huge potential but it is only and only awaken if it is “Regularly Exercised”. The more we work in the gym, the stronger we are. Similarly the more we exercise your brain the more we can achieve.

“Some people dream of success… while others wake up and work hard on it.” – Author Unknown

People change their destinies by sheer Hardwork.

“Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit.” – Napoleon Hill

Do what you love. Make Hardwork your passion. Enjoy the hard things. If people work hard towards their goal/do what they like, it could be “fun” too.

“Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration”-Author unknown

People who work hard/study hard are called “nerds” but only those “nerds” make millions. Hardwork is the one and only “Shortcut to Success”.
Hardwork, at the beginning may hurt like a thorn, but in the end it blossoms like a Rose.

So frndz, ready for hard work ahead..?

“But which is the stone that supports the Bridge?” – By Kublai Khan
My friend Dev, posted this wonderful quote and since then, I was wondering what it meant.
It had many answers: An obvious one, and an inner one.
Which is the stone that supports the Bridge?
Well, EACH STONE.
The bridge is made up of many stones. IF we remove a single one, the bridge will collapse. Each stone strengthens the bridge and makes it more rigid.
More the stones, better and bigger the Bridge.
The “stone” symbolizes our qualities and the “Bridge” our Life.
The more you develop your skills,
The more you are determined,
The more your “Stones”,
The better is the “Bridge”.
“The miracle is not to fly in the air, or to walk on the water, but to walk on the earth.” – Chinese Proverb.
We need to have little of every quality in order to be “complete” like the “bridge” having each stone.
“When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, “I used everything you gave me” – Erma Bombeck
These kind of stones cannot be given or stolen but can only be achieved through Hard and Smart Work. But, we must, take care while putting a stone, another one should not be displaced. Only a smart Engineer can make a Grand bridge.
“Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.” – Danny Kaye.
Are you ready to construct ….

Blame is a lazy man’s wages – Danish Proverb

One of our favorite games is the “Blame Game”

We often like to play this because:

Firstly, we never loose.

“The search for someone to blame is always successful.” – Robert Half.

Secondly, there are no rules, we blame anyone AND EVERYONE.

“All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will NOT CHANGE YOU.” – Wayne Dyer

Whenever anything doesn’t go the way we wanted it to, we often tend to think it was other’s fault. We fail to recognize our mistakes, and always blame others. Deep inside us we know who was wrong, but we never really look into it that way.

“Take your life in your own hands and what happens? A terrible thing: No one is to blame.” – Erica Jong

So, frndz…. Let’s take a note this week of the type of things that we blame. See if we can find a way to avoid it. And I am sure we end up as a positive entity.

The 21st century. The age of Specialization, PEOPLE ALL AROUND THE WORLD, TODAY, ARE STUDYING for super specialization and spending their most valuable years into it. Well, they get highly qualified jobs and are placed in million $ companies.

But I, strongly believe that “ONLY SPECIALIZATION” is disastrous.

THE THEORY BEHIND THIS IS THAT ONCE WE ARE “SPECIALISED”, WE ARE ONLY AND ONLY DEPENDENT UPON THAT “SPECIALIZATION”. And we are almost blank about everything else.

THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS ALSO SUPPORTED BY Robert Kiyosaki author of the bestseller book Rich Dad Poor Dad.

Once he was asked by a young aspiring interviewer, seeking his advice on how to become a bestselling author. He asked her to join sales classes !! Surprised, she asked the reason. He smiled and replied that he is a best “Selling” author and not a best “Writing” author. Implying that, one has to have the knowledge of both writing as well as how to sell.

For Instance, now people worldwide say that the IT boom is going to crash. So, now where do the world’s professionals go…?

We must have a perfect balance of knowledge in more than one field, so in the future if there is any change in our specialized field, due to any reasons whatsoever, we always have another option in our pocket or backup.

“In an age of specialization, people are proud to be able to do one thing well, but if that is all they know about, they are missing out much else has to offer”. – Dennis Flanagan.

So Frndz, think twice before making plans for ONLY SPECIALIZATION

“WE CHANGE – WHETHER WE LIKE IT OR NOT.”
Change. Be Different. Change the way the world sees u. Eyeryone gets ‘BORED’ seeing the same all the time.
“IF NOTHING EVER CHANGED, THERE WOULD BE NO BUTTERFLIES.” – AUTHOR UNKNOWN
We must change our ideology, our thinking in order to be different.
“SOMETIMES IT IS THE SMALLEST DECISION THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER.” – KERI RUSSEL
Just as we all want to change our Laptop Wallpaper every month, people need to see a different ‘YOU’.
“CHANGE IS THE ESSENCE OF LIFE.” – AUTHOR UNKNOWN
Fear – False Evidence Appearing Real. It is the biggest enemy of change. The more u dare to change, the more u become fearless.
“THE KEY TO CHANGE…….. IS TO LET GO OF FEAR.” – ROSANNE CASH
FRNDZ, GO AHEAD, TRY IT. YOU’LL LOVE IT. EVEN YOU WILL FEEL FRESH.
SO, R U READY TO CHANGE YOUR DISPLAY PIC NOW!!

SIX WORD CHALLENGE

I was looking at an article/blogs recently that asked people to write their life stories in only six words…..

Some of the interesting ones are:….

“FOR SALE BABY SHOES, NEVER USED”

“FOUND TRUE LOVE, MARRIED SOMEONE ELSE”

“BAD BRAKES DISCOVERED AT HIGH SPEED”

“EX – WIFE AND CONTRACTOR NOW HAVE HOUSE”

“NEVER REALLY FINISHED ANYTHING, EXCEPT CAKE”

“LAUGHED, CRIED, KISSED BIG BUCKS GOODBYE”

“MET, MARRIED, MOSTLY HAPPY SINCE THEN”

“GIVE ME SOME MORE MORE MORE”

HERE’S MY OWN SIX WORDS…

Was born, still living, and rocking

Playing Tennis more off-court than on-court

Dreaming, sleeping more than anything else

Love dad and mom when not disturbed.

Sitting Last bench silent mischief monger

Fascinate fast bikes, cars, girls too

Sixth in class, still a fool

IT WUD BE FUN – TRY AND POST UR OWN SIX WORDS.

A great line from Richard Kovacevich, CEO of Wells Fargo -

“It’s the best five players that win the game, not the five best players”

Its confusing..right…I had to read it a few times to get it.

What does it actually try to tell us? Is it about team work?

I think so…it is about the things that we can’t even imagine doing alone, can be achieved together with the team effort.

To have ‘Real’ power we must share with others.

It’s simple. Isn’t it ?

So frndz , Can u throw some light on this ?
